Review: First let me say that it will not comment where the author is gushing about how hot shot! As many people have commented on this movie, I also read the first book in school, and then look for the film to see how the story moved on the screen. I respected director Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather, Apocalypse November) made quite competent adaptation of the book (which will always be somerevisions or omissions in such efforts). He retained the essence of class struggle: the eternal conflict between those who are better at birth and serves stations (SOCS) with those less favored (greasers). Coppola has collected more than competent performances from a young cast of up-and-coming he collected. Overall, a very good coming of age movie. |
